What an inspiring day I had today! What started off as a quiet day quickly turned into a peaceful time of experimenting, learning, and sharing. The sun kept on peeking in an out of the clouds, giving us a good rhythm to follow.
When I arrived at VS Gallery today I saw somebody taking pictures by the stream. Sofia Ulff immediately knew it was Topi Pakarinen even before looking out the window and calling him inside. Topi obeyed and came to write some wishes. Over a pot of tea, my obsession with knots came out and he told me that he also makes macrame at home. So we changed views, took a couple balls of ribbon with us and found a tree in the front yard of Vanja Sea & Friends. Many good questions came up today. Why is it hard for some to write their dreams, hopes, and secrets? Does it have to be serious? How to show knot making in a clear and easy way? How to apply ryijy techinque to sculpture? Jeans and ryijy? Fluttering in the wind, we found a secret today in Swedish that said, "Min dröm är att vi ska skratta mycket mer!" It translates to, "My dream is that we'll laugh a lot more!" Beautiful!! Kiitos päivästä! xoxo arlene
