Last night I attended the knitting circle at Cafe Antique. I left my knitting sticks at home so I brought my mini loom and giant ball of ribbons. There, I coincidentally happen to meet Anna Ulff whom I have heard such nice things about since my recent trip to Kokkola! And when I started telling her about Ryijy project a fellow overhead and suggested I read the book Ryijyn taikaa: Opas ryijyn suunnitteluun ja valmistukseen by Ulla Karsikas.
I immediately checked if the local library had it on the shelves and there it waited for me. My walk to and fro Pohjan kirjasto took about 2 hours. That is devotion. On the way back I ran into one of the ladies from last night's knitting circle and told her I had just arrived from my library walk. I showed her the book and she helped me figure out one of my persistent obstacles. The book is very detailed with pictures and descriptions, but I couldn't find the bit on how to take off the weaving from the loom when you are finished. My new friend with a basket hanging from her arm carrying a few empty beer bottles helped me! My circle of luck is complete.
